Family Vacation: For their 45th Wedding Anniversary, my parents did much the same as they did on their 40th Wedding Anniversary and took their children and grandchildren on a week-long vacation. The destination of choice this time was Glade Springs. Glade Springs is a resort in the hills of Daniels, West Virginia that offers a wide variety of both summer and winter activities, a large portion of which we partook. Also located in the region are many other adventure activities not offered directly by the resort.

Glade Springs: The resort isn't located too far from home, so we drove there, my brother and his family in one car and Peep and me with my parents in a second car. My sister and her family would be joining us later that night. Prior to my sister's arrival, those in the early group made the first of several trips to the grocery store to stock up on food. We were staying in one of the rental lodges at the resort which included a full kitchen, as well as a dining area, living room, four bedrooms, a bunkroom, and four-and-a-half baths. The lodge could be separated into three rentals, but with our large group, we rented the entirety of the building.

Indoor Swimming: After my sister's arrival and dinner at the lodge, we all made the trip over to the Leisure Center to check things out. After spending a few minutes getting the lay of the land, we headed to the indoor pool for a late-night swim, most of the adults choosing to opt out.
