Business Trip: Peep's boss scheduled a bunch of business meetings that included personnel from many different locations, including Peep. Originally scheduled to be held in Bangkok, I decided to accompany Peep for the two-day trip. A couple of days before our departure, the location of the meetings was changed to Phuket, requiring the addition of a couple flights to our travel plans. We ended up arriving in Phuket on Monday and were delighted to run into John's two friends from Idaho, who were still vacationing there.
The Meetings: We spent the early morning on Tuesday walking the beach. I even took the opportunity to take a quick swim in the ocean while we were there. After breakfast Peep was tied up in meetings the rest of the day. However, I did get the opportunity to catch up with her as they broke for lunch and again for dinner. The day was overcast and rainy, so I spent my time inside our condo.
Extending the Stay: Since we flew all the way to Phuket for the meetings, Peep asked her boss if she could stay an extra day, and he agreed. However, Lao Airlines, our carrier between Bangkok and Savannakhet, did not offer a flight on Thursday, so we extended our stay an additional two days and returned on Friday instead.
