Trip Details: This trip actually consisted of stops in three different countries: Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand.
The trip was interesting, but not exactly the kind of trip Peep and I would have taken on our own. The bus was to pick us up at 8:00, but didn't get here until 9:15, and that pretty much set the mood for the trip. Of course, traveling by bus we spent a lot of time on the road. Additionally, most of the tourists in the group preferred spending more time than us shopping and eating, and our lunch breaks typically lasted 1-2 hours.
Tham Pha: On the first day, we stopped at a Buddha Cave in Khammouane Province, Laos. The cave is located high up on a limestone cliff, but there was a staircase to make ascent easier, replacing the old ladder which had been used. After visiting the cave, we continued on to Savannakhet, Laos, where we spent the night in a guest house.
