Yunnan Nationalities Village: Since our flight wasn't scheduled to take off until early afternoon, we decided to make the trip to the Yunnan Nationalities Village, which had been on our list of sites to see but hadn't yet found the time to attend. It also gave Pou and Drangon an opportunity to see a little more of the sights in Kunming. The theme park itself is divided into sections, each containing a couple typical structures and the village square of the different ethnic minorities. Shows and performances are also given.
Strolling the Villages: The rains had returned in force as we strolled from village to village. Of the twenty to twenty-five villages there, we only found time to see six - the Dai, the Hani, the De'Ang, the Jingpo, the Achang, and the Tibetan villages. Although we weren't present for any of the performaces given, we did see one group from the Jingpo village rehearsing for their show. We also took time to smash empty bottles by throwing them against a rock in the De'Ang village. The more pieces the bottle breaks into, the safer you are.
Return Trip: The flights back home were rather uneventful. However, we did have to spend a night in Bangkok due to the Lao Airlines flight schedule. Pou has relatives in the city, so we split up for the evening and met back at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Tuesday for the flight home.
